... It was lead by the coloraturo-soprano Christina Elbe with her pure and focussed soprano voice, by which Mirjam Schreur (Alto), Erik Stoklossa (Tenor) and Christian Hilz (Bariton) with their light oratorio-timbre completed the foursome homogeneously - Schubert at his best!

Twee solisten, Claudia Couwenbergh (sopraan) en Mirjam Schreur (mezzosopraan), en het door Hans Leenders geleide vocaal ensemble Studium Chorale, op toon gehouden door Klaas Hoek achter een harmonium, hadden zich sterk ingeleefd in de oude tekst van Juan de la Cruz en de gepaste muziek van Jo van den Booren. Gedurende de hele lengte van het stuk, exact een uur lang, hielden zij de muzikale boog gespannen, was het koorwerk Cantico Espiritual een belevenis. ...

Two soloists, Claudia Couwenbergh (soprano) en Mirjam Schreur (mezzosoprano), and the vocal ensemble Studium Chorale lead by Hans Leenders, kept in tune by Klaas Hoek behind the harmonium, had entered into the old text of Juan de la Cruz and the appropriate music of Jo van den Booren. During the whole length of the peice, excactly one hour, they kept the musical bow always bent. The choirwork Cantico Espiritual was a great experience.

Aeneas (Martin Jan Nijhof) en Belinda (Suzan Erens) brachten hun partij niet alleen overtuigend,
ze waren bepaald geen fremdkörper in dit decor: Carthago aan de Maas. ...
... Dat alles maakte deze Dido & Aeneas heel sfeervol en warmbloedig.
Bij het gebruikelijke hoogtepunt, wanneer Dido zich overgeeft aan de dood,
marcheerden nog meer rillingen over mijn rug dan bij de nagenoeg perfecte versie
van Kimberkey McCord van het Gabrieli Consort.
Jammer dat er voor deze verjaardag maar een keer een feestje werd gegeven.

At the usual climax, when Dido surrenders to Death,
I had even more shivers down my spine than with the almost perfect version
by Kimberkey McCord of the Gabrieli Consort.
It was a shame that for this birthday, only one party was given.
